Means of Transport
By car. It is relatively the most simple way to get to Poland and move within its area. The roads are set densely, although they are in quite a bad condition. Many highways are being built (E-40/A4, E-30/A2, E-75/A1). The cars from outside of the EU must be insured additionally, by the so-called green card.
By plane. Our state plane company PLL LOT works in numerous airports in the world. Most of the international flights start and end at the F. Chopin airport in Warsaw. Within the last several years there appeared many cheap airlines working at smaller airports in Poland.
By train. The trains in Poland are monopolized by Polish State Railways (PKP). Travelling by trains is quite cheap within the area of Poland, however conditions in carrieges, time of journeys and punctuality could be better. International tickets are a lot more expensive.
By bus. In Poland there work many companies offering international transport in Europe. The standards are high, prices low, but the journeys are quite long. Within Poland the PKS buses get to almost all places, and the time is comparable to trains.
By ferry. The regular ferry routes with Denmark and Sweden provide comfortable transport to the countries of Scandinavia.
